Do you know if Recycler is a Windows xp system folder?

I’ve got an infection on a flash drive with a folder named Recycled and an autorun.inf with this string: shellexecute=RecycledS-1-5-21-3666692665-148099885-633438025-500regsvc32.exe.

One of my computers got infected. And I later on realized another folder Recycler (hidden) exits in my hard drives. It keeps creating the folder even if it’s deleted. I also found out I can’t delete it from my friend’s computer. It says some certain file/folder (.tmp) is being used.

I’m wondering if it’s a virus or a system folder. Please help.
Thank you :)

Hidden folder "Recycled" is actually your Recycle Bin. :) ‘Nuff said.

NOTE: If you can’t see it with the "Show Hidden Folders" on, try unticking "Hide Protected System Files". In XP, it’s two options down.

Yes it does eixist! Every drive has it’s own ‘Recycler’ folder.it’s usually hidden. If your showing hidden files and you still can’t find it, try using linux and browse to the drive.
