How much money can be made from recycled computers?

I just recently found out that there is gold, aluminum, etc. in computers. I built a computer once but never thought that they would actually use gold in them. But what I was wondering was how much money can be made per computer for recycling everything individually?

The amount of Gold in a computer is very insufficient to generate an income from at a level that is not a recycle business with smelters and equipment to separate the raw materials. Just the environmental license requirements and handling of hazardous waste, eat away at any low level income from recycling computers for the raw materials. One computer will not generate any income from it. Breaking them down and selling the hardware from each computer may bring in around $50 to $100 dollars at the most, if you could actually find any buyers who need the parts. It’s difficult to really say, you may make more putting them on eBay.
