I want to connect two mac computers together so the screens work together like when you have extra screen BUT?
I dont want one computer to just be a screen. I know of screen recycler but that makes one computer an extra screen. I want to have two computers but their screens are like extensions of each other so i can run things on both computers
in response to the first answer i said two computers not a display im also not sure if this would work so someone read the my question then answer it

So if I understand your question correctly, you want to use both the screen real estate and the processing of power of both Macs to make a super computer. Well, the problem comes in to play when trying to manage tasks across the two machines.
You can manage tasks manually and sequentially, but not really automatically and simultaneous. For instance, I use my wife’s MacBook to compress video while I am using DVD Studio Pro/Photoshop on my MBP to author. In fact, I’ve done something similar with 5 Mac Pros at my school. So basically sending large tasks to the slave computer or computers, and returning the data to the host.
I don’t know of any software that will allow you to manage non-specific tasks automatically. There are some that do it somewhat automatically like the Compressor in Final Cut Studio, or scientific applications. Basically a batch has to be made with information sent across the network, processed on individual machines, and returned back. I mean, it’s hard enough for the OS to handle multiple cores (that’s what Snow Leopard is supposed to improve in, among other things) so managing this across a network would probably not be effective.
