What is the best way to dispose an old RAID box?
I have an old raid box and I want to get rid of it. It’s unpractical to donate it because this raid box is very old and I doubt anyone would make use of it. I can’t just throw it in the trash can… that’ll end up as e-waste in China or Ghana!

post it on freecycle or craigslist as a "first here to pickup gets it"
Make sure all the data is removed from the drives. I usually wait until I have a truckload of older boxes and take them to a local recycler and get the value of the metal. Usually it is only a few bucks, but I feel like I have done my part in some small way.
