Why have folders named RECYCLER and System Volume Information Appeared in my C: ?
As above.
They have appeared along with boot.ini (Which makes me think they have something to do with the computer boot system? ) But then there’s other files such as NTDETECT.COM, CONFIG.SYS, IO.SYS, MSDOS.SYS, ntldr, and pagefile.sys
Can someone explain what these are, why they randomly appeared in my C: and what they do?

basically those files are the files that ur operating system is based on. you either have system folders made to be visible…yeah, so here is some descriptions:
Recycler: That is a folder your recycle bun is put(remeber: recycle bin is not a software, but a folder
System Volume Information is where your system info is and where system restore points are created…
NTDETECT detects your operating system and opens it.
CONFIG.SYS is your current system configuration.
ntldr is the file YOU NEVER DELETE. Your windows operating system will CRASH.
Pagefile is also important…do not delete it.
At folder options in control panel, click on view tab and then uncheck ‘Display the contents of system folders.’
I’ve been studying for my A+ test, and they are ALL needed for bootup, or your computer won’t boot. A couple help Windows boot, one tells Windows the drives that it uses, and others the ports. Do not selete.
These are files that are usually hidden until the user selects hidden files to be shown in Tools > Folder Options > View.
